Recuperación de puentes con la aplicación de taladros largos

Abstract

En su condición actual la mina tiene un total de reservas probadas y probables de 20´822,130 TMS con 1.14 % Cu. y 21.72 gr-Ag/t (información al 01.01.13), las cuales determinan un tiempo de vida 7.6 años a un ritmo de producción de 7,500 tpd. Con la aplicación del método de Corte y Relleno Ascendente Mecanizado, se ha dejado en las áreas ya explotadas puentes de seguridad y zig zags que anteriormente sirvieron de acceso a los mismos. Esto significa que, de las reservas totales de mineral probado-probable, el 25% se encuentra en puentes y zig zags con altas leyes de cobre. Por lo tanto, se debe tener en consideración que la recuperación de estos pilares es económicamente factible, y puede incrementar la vida de una mina. En el presente trabajo se detalla un método de minado con taladros largos (Long Hole Drill), para la recuperación de puentes y escudos con un aceptable grado de seguridad; esto gracias a las propiedades geotécnicas exhibidas por el relleno antiguo, el manto y las cajas que contienen al manto mineralizado (techo y piso); así mismo se incluyen sugerencias para la recuperación de sectores de los zig zags. Debido al debilitamiento y derrumbes producidos en labores antiguas es que se aplica este método, permitiendo un trabajo de menos riesgo para los trabajadores y que en un corto tiempo se tenga una elevada producción con seguridad, permitiendo el ciclado en las diferentes áreas de recuperación. La explotación con Long Hole Drill ha permitido en DOE RUN PERU una alta productividad a bajo costo, y mejorar los índices de seguridad en las recuperaciones de las áreas mencionadas, logrando de esta forma obtener nuevos estándares, índices y parámetros en la técnica de recuperaciones. Se proporciona también la determinación de índices de estabilidad y cálculo del espesor mínimo de los puentes durante el proceso de explotación. Los porcentajes de recuperación de mineral en puentes y pilares se estiman en 54% y 17% respectivamente. El Planeamiento de mina considera un estimado de producción de 2´575,440 t con 0.90 %Cu y 15 gr-Ag/t, 94,832 t de concentrado de cobre con 23% de Cu y 300 gr-Ag/t para el año 2013. El mencionado plan presenta una producción adecuada y factible, con la finalidad de nivelar las preparaciones que se encuentran retrasadas y una agresiva eliminación de condiciones sub-estándar existentes en las galerías, rampas, echaderos de mineral, la reparación y rehabilitación de la infraestructura respectiva. Actualmente la empresa se encuentra en una etapa de restructuración, en la que se considera continuar con la renovación de la flota de equipos pesados como también la infraestructura existente, dado que por su antigüedad es necesario, para garantizar el planeamiento de mediano y largo plazo. Las reservas actuales de las recuperaciones ascienden a 2,5 Mt con 1,32% Cu y representan el 12% de las reservas totales.

In its current condition the mine has a total of proven and probable reserves of 20´822,130 DMT with 1.14 % Cu. And 21.72 gr-Ag/t. (information on 01.01.13), which determine a lifetime of 7.6 years to a rhythm of production of 7,500 tpd. With the application of the mechanized overhand cut and fill method, it has been left in the already exploited areas safety bridges and zig zags which previously serve of Access to the same ones. This means that of the total reserves of proven-probable mineral, the 25% is in bridges and zigzags with high grade of copper. Therefore, it must have into consideration that the recovery of these pillars is economically feasible and can increase the life of a mine. In the present work is detailed a mine working method with Long Drills (Long Hole Drill), for the recovery of bridges and shields with an acceptable degree of safety, this thanks to the geotechnical properties exhibited by the ancient fill, the mantle and the wals containing the mineralized mantle (roof and floor), likewise suggestions are included for the recovery of the zigzags. Due to the weakening and collapses produced in the ancient workings is that this method is applied, allowing a work of lower risk for the workers and that in a short time has a high production safely allowing the cycling in the different areas of recovery. The exploitation with Long Hole Drill has allowed in DOE RUN PERU a high productivity at low cost and better index of safety in the recoveries of mentioned areas, achieving in this way the obtaining of new standards, indexes and parameters in the technology of recoveries. It is provided also the determination of indexes of stability and calculation of minimal thickness of the bridges during the process of exploitation. The percentages of recovery of mineral in bridges and pillars are estimated in 54% and 17% respectively. The mine planning considers an estimated of production of 2´575,440 t with 0.90 %Cu and 15 gr-Ag/t, 94,832 t of copper concentrated with 23% of Cu and 300 gr-Ag/t for the year 2013. The mentioned plan presents a suitable and feasible production with the purpose of leveling preparations that are delayed and an aggressive elimination of substandard conditions existing in the drifts, ramps, mineral ore passes, the repair and rehabilitation of the respective infrastructure. Nowadays the company is in a stage of restructuring, in which it is considered to continue with the renovation of the heavy equipments fleet as also the existing infrastructure, provided that for its age it is necessary, to guarantee the planning of medium and long term. The current reserves of the recoveries amount to 2,5Mt with 1.32%Cu and represent the 12% of the total reserves.
