Resumen : El Plan Piloto de Lima (1949), es el primer plan integral realizado bajo los preceptos de la Carta de Atenas que se oficializa en el mundo. Desde que Le Corbusier planteó el Plan Voisin y publicó la Carta de Atenas (1943) fueron muchos los intentos por llevar a la práctica la nueva forma de planificar las ciudades. Este mérito recayó en la ONPU, institución creada por gestión del arq. Fernando Belaúnde y dirigida por el ing. Luis Dorich, cuyo primer encargo fue la elaboración del Plan Regulador de Lima, del cual el Plan Piloto de Lima era la primera etapa y el que proponía el modelo de ciudad; este plan contó con las asesorías de J. L. Sert, P. L. Wiener y E. N. Rogers. En este documento se propone los límites de crecimiento de la ciudad, la futura metrópoli Lima-Callao es articulada por una trama vial perimétrica y otra interna. El centro de Lima se propone como una suerte de Plan Voisin "marinado" o versión criolla, tabula rasa incluida. Sus grandes omisiones fueron el mar, el río y los migrantes, hechos que terminan configurando otra Lima distinta a la del plan. El PPL dejó una huella profunda en la ciudad especialmente en su estructura vial. El Plan Piloto de Lima es un hito de la urbanística moderna internacional.
The Pilot Plan of Lima (1949), is the first comprehensive plan made under the provisions of the Charter of Athens became official in the world. Since Le Corbusier raised the Plan Voisin and published the Charter of Athens ( 1943) there were many attempts to implement the new way or planning cities. This merit wenl to the ONPU, rnanagement institution created by Arch. Fernando Belaúnde and directed by the lng. Luis Dorich, who first assignment was the development of the Regulatory Plan of Lima, which the Pilot Plan of Lima, was the first stage and proposing the city model. This plan had the advice of J.L. Sert, P.L. Wiener and E.N. Rogers. In this document the limits of growth of the city is proposed, the future metropolis Lima-Callao is articulated by a perime­ter road and an inner frame. The Centre of Lima is proposed as a kind of Plan Voisin "marinated" or creole version, in­cluding tabula rasa. lts big omissions were the sea, river and migrants, facts come to configure a different plan to Lima. The PPL left a deep mark on the city especially in the road structure. Pilot Plan of Lima is a landmark of international modern planning.
