Abstract

La aproximación principal para la ejecución del proyecto es que Arequipa y la Región Sur cuenten con una infraestructura complementaria vinculante a sus excelentes atractivos en el orden Patrimonial y Cultural. Se propone un proyecto de regeneración urbana en todo el terreno de la ex­ Curtiembre Pedro P. Diaz, entre las intersecciones de la Av. La Marina y Calle San Agustín (margen derecho del río Chili), dentro del borde del Centro Histórico de Arequipa. Esta regeneración consta en implementar a la ciudad un Complejo cultural y turístico, el cual plantea funciones de tipo: sociocultural, turística, administrativa y educativa. Es así como surge el proyecto del Centro de Eventos Culturales y Convenciones de Arequipa. El proyecto se desarrollará dentro de esta propuesta de regeneración urbana; que a su vez responde a la configuración espacial y formal de los ''Tambos" (antiguas edificaciones coloniales de vivienda temporal), reflejando los mismos elementos de configuración y materiales en el planteamiento del diseño del conjunto. Además, procurando mantener las alturas que enlacen con las edificaciones reutilizadas de la antigua fábrica de curtiembres, que logren integrarse a la imagen paisajística que posee el lugar y su entorno inmediato.

The primary approach for the implementation of the project is to Arequipa and the Southern Region, have a complementary infrastructure attractive, binding in excellent Herritage and Cultural order. We propose an urban regeneration project in all the land of the former Tannery Pedro P. Diaz, between the intersections of Ave. La Marina and St. San Agustín (right bank of the river Chili), within the edge of the historie center of Arequipa. This regeneration consists in implementing the · city a cultural and tourism complex, which presents features such as: socio­ cultural, tourist, · administrative and educational. Thus arises the project of the Center for Cultural Events and Conventions of Arequipa. The project was developed within the proposed urban regeneration, which in turn responds to the spatial and formal "Drums" (old colonial buildings of temporary housing), reflecting the same configuration items and materials in the design approach the assembly. Besides trying to keep that link with the heights of buildings are reused from the old tannery factory that manage to integrate into the landscape image that owns the site and its immediate surroundings.
