Mercado Los Cedros de Villa Market Villa

Abstract

El distrito de Chorrillos se caracteriza por tener una increíble vista al mar y; sin lugar a dudas, por ser uno de los distritos con más historia en el Perú. Ha tenido entre sus habitantes a personajes que se han convertido en héroes nacionales como el pescador José Olaya Balandra, quien fue parte importante de la Independencia del país. Con el paso de los años, la tipología de la arquitectura de Chorrillos se fue perdiendo tras el diseño de las construcciones de la edad moderna, los comercios han ido creciendo, incluso las edificaciones de educación. El cambio más notorio se dio en la urbanización de Los Cedros de Villa debido a la aparición de dos universidades las cuales generaron un gran impacto en el entorno urbano; por ejemplo, muchas viviendas de uso residenciales implementaron comercios informales dentro de sus espacios vacíos tales como garajes, patios, azoteas, etc. Es por ello que el nuevo mercado de Los Cedros de Villa – Market Villa busca integrar esta necesidad generada por la aparición del comercio informal, con el mercado de barrio existente y; a su vez, crear un nuevo hito arquitectónico para Chorrillos mediante el diseño de la fachada con acabados hexagonales conceptualizados a la pesca, y así poder dar una nueva identidad a Chorrillos y a las personas que lo habitan.

The district of Chorrillos is known for having an awesome view of the sea and; undoubtedly, for been one of the districts with more history in Peru. This has had among its inhabitants characters who have become national heroes such as fisherman Jose Olaya Balandra, who was an important element of the country’s independence. Over the years, the typology of the architecture of Chorrillos was lost after the design of the modern ages constructions, the local commerce have been growing, even buildings intended for education. The most notorious change occurred in the urbanization of Los Cedros de Villa due to the appearance of two universities which generated a great impact on the urban environment; to give an example, many residential housing implemented informal businesses within their empty spaces such as garages, yards, roofs, etc. That is why the new market of Los Cedros de Villa - Market Villa aims to integrate this need generated by the emergence of informal trade, with the existing neighborhood market and; simultaneously, create a new architectural landmark for Chorrillos through the architecture / design of the facade with hexagonal finishes conceptualized to fishing, and thus be able to give a new identity to Chorrillos and the people who inhabit it.
