Centro de comercio, difusión agrícola y de servicios en Carabayllo

Abstract

La ciudad de Lima desde mediados del siglo XX, sufrió un explosivo crecimiento poblacional y urbano que fue generando una expansión desmesurada de barriadas alrededor de la pequeña e histórica “Ciudad de los Reyes”, estos cinturones de asentamientos humanos con el tiempo devinieron en nuevos distritos, y posteriormente, en las llamadas nuevas Limas. Lima Norte es una de ellas. Lima Norte se conforma de ochos distritos, pero uno de los que aún mantiene su carácter de borde y continuo crecimiento urbano es Carabayllo, antiguamente destacado por su producción agrícola, extensas áreas verdes y paisajes naturales. Estas características generaron que en las últimas dos décadas el distrito haya sido una zona de conflicto entre las presiones del crecimiento urbano y las necesidades de abastecimiento de alimentos para la ciudad, sufriendo así el impacto que estas tensiones generan sobre su desarrollo.

Razón por la cual se plantea este proyecto, implementando como punto de partida el plan de intervención urbana: Complejo rio Chillón, en un sector de rápido y conflictivo crecimiento poblacional de Carabayllo, llamado Chaperito, que colinda con el rio; teniendo como objetivo la recuperación del lugar y ser pieza fundamental de su desarrollo. En ese sentido el Centro de Comercio, Difusión Agrícola y de Servicios (CEDIAS), forma parte importante se esta intervención, pues no solo recupera espacios ribereños y crea nuevas áreas de esparcimiento, sino que le suma el rol importante de abastecimiento para la comunidad, a través de la venta de alimentos frescos producidos en los campos agrícolas del valle de Chillón y el norte de Lima. El Proyecto también se encarga de difundir y conservar la cultura agrícola, que a sido parte intrínseca de la formación del distrito y la conservación de su entorno natural. Por ello, El CEDIAS genera internamente espacios para la producción y el autoabastecimiento de productos vegetales, desarrollando áreas de cultivo agrícolas y no agrícolas, en el Parque Huerto y en el Invernadero respectivamente, que podrán ser exhibidos y vendidos en el mercado agrícola. El CEDIAS ofrece, además: áreas de esparcimiento, ocio y el comercio de productos naturales, complementado con un Restaurante, un Bar-Café y otras zonas de servicios que, bajo un solo enfoque funcional, generarán un edificio que atenderá las necesidades y los requerimientos de la población y los nuevos flujos que se desarrollarán a lo largo de todo el Complejo y el Parque Ribereño, del cual forma parte este proyecto.

Since the middle of the 20th century, the city of Lima suffered an explosive population and urban growth that was generating an excessive expansion of neighborhoods around the small and historic "City of the Kings", these belts of human settlements over time became new districts, and later, in the so-called new Limas. Lima Norte is one of them. Lima Norte is made up of eight districts, but one of those that still maintains its edge character and continuous urban growth is Carabayllo, formerly noted for its agricultural production, extensive green areas and natural landscapes. These characteristics generated that in the last two decades the district has been a zone of conflict between the pressures of urban growth and the needs of food supply for the city, thus suffering the impact that these tensions generate on its development. Reason for which this project is proposed, implementing as a starting point the urban intervention plan: Complejo Rio Chillón, in a sector of rapid and conflictive population growth in Carabayllo, called Chaperito, which adjoins the river; with the objective of recovering the place and being a fundamental part of its development. In this sense, the Centro de Comercio, Difusión Agrícola y de Servicios (CEDIAS), is an important part of this intervention, since it not only recovers riverside spaces and creates new recreation areas, but also adds the important role of supplying the community, through the sale of fresh food produced in the agricultural fields of the Chillón Valley and the north of Lima. The Project is also responsible for disseminating and preserving the agricultural culture, which has been an intrinsic part of the formation of the district and the conservation of its natural environment. For this reason, CEDIAS internally generates spaces for the production and self-sufficiency of vegetable products, developing agricultural and non-agricultural cultivation areas, in the Park-Vegetable plot and in the Greenhouse, respectively, which may be exhibited and sold in the agricultural market. The CEDIAS also offers: areas for recreation, leisure and the trade of natural products, complemented by a Restaurant, a Bar-Café and other service areas that, under a single functional approach, will generate a building that will meet the needs and requirements of the population and the new flows that will develop throughout the Complejo and the Riverside Park, of which this project is a part.
