Adecuación e implementación del sistema de información comercial de una corporación transnacional peruana

Abstract

El presente trabajo se inicia con una descripción de la corporación transnacional y de sus procesos comerciales, luego se presentan los antecedentes de la ejecución del proyecto materia de este informe, se plantea la problemática de negocio que el proyecto enfrentó, se formula el problema general que resolvió el proyecto, y se describen tanto el objetivo general y como los objetivos específicos del proyecto. Luego, se presentan fundamentos de la ingeniería de sistemas. Se presentan dos definiciones de la ingeniería de sistemas, se hace un relacionamiento con el proceso de liderazgo, y se describen el enfoque de la ingeniería de sistemas y el rol del ingeniero de sistemas. Además, se muestra la estrecha relación entre la ingeniería de sistemas y la gestión de proyectos. A continuación, se presenta de manera muy concreta, dado que es de dominio público, el marco de referencia para la gestión de proyectos, el estándar “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) ®” (PMBOK, de ahora en adelante) del “Project Management Institute ®” (PMI, de ahora en adelante) en su quinta edición, presentándose una tabla donde se reseñan los procesos de gestión agrupados por sus cinco grupos de proceso y sus diez áreas de conocimiento. Adicionalmente, se presenta un enfoque minimalista para la gestión de proyectos llamado Project Management Lite™ (Lite, de ahora en adelante). Se completa el marco teórico, presentando fundamentos de los sistemas de información. Se hace una revisión de la organización moderna como una entidad altamente capaz de responder a los estímulos de su entorno, y de aprender y adaptarse al mismo. A continuación, se presentan los sistemas de procesamiento transaccional, y los sistemas de planeamiento de recursos empresariales (ERP), analizando el rol que juegan cada uno de ellos en la organización. En el tercer capítulo se describe el alcance del proyecto en los ocho frentes del proyecto: infraestructura tecnológica, migración de datos, migración del sistema de impresión masiva, desarrollo y adecuación de funcionalidades, integración con sistemas periféricos, capacitación de usuarios, pruebas integrales y optimización de desempeño. En el cuarto capítulo se realiza la evaluación de cómo se aplicaron los fundamentos de los sistemas de información presentados en el marco teórico, cómo se aplicaron los procesos de gestión de proyectos según el PMBOK y el Lite, y si el trabajo realizado por el gestor del proyecto se puede considerar como ingeniería de sistemas. Se finaliza el informe, dando nuestras conclusiones y recomendaciones sobre el proyecto. En las conclusiones se describe cómo se resolvieron tanto el problema formulado, el objetivo general planteado, así como los objetivos específicos del proyecto. En las recomendaciones se presenta, en forma de lecciones aprendidas, tanto lo que se hizo bien como lo que se necesita mejorar para proyectos futuros. This paper begins with a description of the transnational corporation and its business processes, then the antecedents of the project subject of this report are introduced, the business issues that the project coped with are described, the general problem that the project solved is formulated, and both the general objective and the specific objectives of the project are shown. Then fundamentals of systems engineering are presented, two definitions of systems engineering are given, a relationship with the leadership process is shown, the systems engineering approach and the role of systems engineering are described. In addition, the close relationship between systems engineering and project management is done. Then, since it is in the public domain, the framework for project management is presented a very concrete way, the standard "A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) ®" (PMBOK, from now on) of the "Project Management Institute ®" (PMI, from now on), showing a table where management processes are grouped by its five process groups and its ten areas of knowledge. In addition, a minimalist approach to project management called Project Management Lite™ (Lite, from now on) is presented. The theoretical background is completed by introducing fundamentals of information systems. A review is made of the modern organization as an entity highly capable to respond to changes from their environment, and to learn and adapt. Then transactional processing systems and enterprise resource planning systems (ERP) are presented, analyzing the role that each plays in the organization. In the third chapter we describe the scope of the project in the eight fronts of the project: technology infrastructure, data migration, migration of the mass printing system, development and modification of functionalities, integration with peripheral systems, user training, integral testing and performance optimization. In the fourth chapter we evaluate how were applied the fundamentals of information systems presented in the theoretical framework, how were applied the processes of project management according to the PMBOK and Lite, and if the work done by the project manager can be considered as systems engineering. This document is finished by giving our conclusions and recommendations about the project. The conclusions describe how both the formulated problem and the overall objective and the specific objectives of the project were solved. The recommendations, shown in the form of lessons learned, describe both what went well and what needs to be improved for future projects.
