Hotel 4 estrellas & Centro de Convenciones en Arequipa

Abstract

El proyecto “Hotel 4 Estrellas & Centro De Convenciones En Arequipa” fue un tema desa¬rrollado en el Taller de Diseño 10, curso de décimo ciclo de la carrera de Arquitectura, en la facultad de Arquitectura, Urbanismo y Artes de la Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería. El Hotel forma parte de una propuesta urbana que busca integrar la parte sur del Centro Histórico de Arequipa a la actividad comercial y turística del resto de la ciudad. El proyecto arquitectónico se ubica al sur de la Av. La Marina (Malecón Chili), justo donde ésta aparen¬temente termina. El lugar fue escogido por su alto potencial urbano y comercial, además del fácil acceso y cercanía a los atractivos turísticos de la ciudad. Arequipa posee un déficit de hospedajes de lujo y de infraestructura para eventos, tal y como se refleja en sus planes actuales. Buscamos satisfacer dicha demanda, procurando además activar una zona actualmente desaprovechada a pesar de su estratégica ubica¬ción, generando nuevos puestos de trabajo y revalorando el espacio público. La volumetría del proyecto obedece a un estudio previo de la arquitectura local, la cuál tiene características muy únicas que solo se pueden encontrar en Arequipa, como el uso del sillar y cualquier mineral de origen volcánico. El Hotel se integra a su entorno inmediato y se vincula a la trama urbana, generando espacios de integración entre el edificio y el es¬pacio público, gracias a su privilegiada ubicación, que ofrece a la fachada principal una vista espectacular hacia el río y los volcanes Misti y Chachani. The project “Hotel 4 Stars & Convention Center in Arequipa” was developed in the Tenth Design Workshop, tenth Course in the career of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning from the National University Engineering. The hotel is part of an urban proposal that seeks to integrate the southern part of the His¬toric Center of Arequipa to the Commercial and Tourist Activity of the rest of the city. This architectural project is located in south of the La Marina Avenue (Pier Chili), just where this apparently ends. The location was chosen for its high urban and commercial potential, in addition to easy access and proximity to the tourist attractions of the city. Arequipa has a deficit luxury accommodations and infrastructure for events, as reflected in their current plans. We seek to satisfy this demand, also trying to activate a currently wasted area despite its strategic location, generating new jobs and reassessing the public space. The volumetric of the project follows a previous study of local architecture, which has very unique features that can only be found in Arequipa, as the use of “sillar” and any mineral of volcanic origin. The Hotel is integrated into its immediate environment and linked to the urban area, creating spaces of integration between the building and the public space, due to its privileged location, offering the main facade a spectacular view of the river and the Misti and Chachani.
