Estación de tren y Centro Cultural Monserrate

Abstract

El escenario actual del Centro Histórico de Lima es totalmente distinto al de principios del siglo XIX, el ferrocarril que alguna vez cumplió un papel fundamental como medio de transporte para la sociedad ha sido olvidada, el río actualmente es un espacio en abandono, espacios históricos deteriorados y más, son las grandes problemáticas, pero a la vez oportunidades para plantear soluciones y reflexionar sobre que se puede ofrecer para la ciudad de Lima. En el Centro Histórico de Lima específicamente en el barrio de Monserrate se encuentran grandes potencialidades que pueden ayudar a ser los elementos detonadores para que la ciudad adquiera nuevas posibilidades para su desarrollo, el ferrocarril, el Río Rímac y la cultura que ofrece Monserrate, estos elementos conforman un rol muy importante en esta parte de la ciudad que tal vez ha sido olvidado o no se le da el interés, pero que pueden desarrollar un rol muy significativo respondiendo al contexto histórico que existe, es por esta razón la gran motivación para el desarrollo del proyecto. Esta tesis no solo es el desarrollo de un proyecto aislado, sino forma parte de un proyecto urbano que busca resolver la problemática de esta zona de la ciudad con todas la condicionantes que ofrece para mejorar la relación que existe entre la ciudad, el río y las personas, apuntando de esta manera a contribuir a la calidad de vida de sus habitantes.

The current scene of the Historical Lima’s Center is totally different from the beginning of 19th century, the railway that once played a fundamental role as a means of transport for the society has been forgotten, the river is currently a space in neglect, deteriorated historic spaces and more, this are the major problematic, but in the same time opportunities to raise solutions and reflect about that can offer to Lima city. In the Historic Center of Lima, specifically in the neighborhood of Monserrate are great potentialities that can help be the elements for the city acquire new possibilities for their development, the railway, the Rimac River and the culture that offers Monserrate, these elements make up a very important role in this part of the city that has perhaps been forgotten or not given the interest, but that can develop a very significant role in response to the historic Center that exists, it’s for the reason the great motivation for the development of the project. This thesis isn’t only the development of an isolated project, but it’s part an urban project that find solve the problem of this area of the city with all the conditions that offer to improve the relation that there between the city, the river and people, pointing in this way to contribute to the quality of life of people.
