Abstract

Escuela de Posgrado en Ciencias Empresariales y Centro Cultural El proyecto fue concebido mientras se trabajaba en la restauración del edificio histórico conocido como "Casa Suárez". Durante el proceso de restauración, los propietarios recibieron expresiones de interés por la adquisición de este edificio. Pero estas propuestas no se hicieron realidad porque el área del lote era demasiado reducida para los requisitos de las universidades, y existen restricciones para construir nuevas instalaciones debido a su condición de edificio histórico. La casa "Casa Suárez" limita en la parte trasera de su lote con una propiedad cuyos dueños están interesados en vender, y esa es la razón por la que este proyecto vincula ambos lotes. La casa restaurada se interviene para convertirse en el nuevo Centro Cultural y en el otro lote desarrollamos las nuevas instalaciones para la Escuela de Graduados. De esta manera, el proyecto presenta una estrategia para abordar ambos problemas: brindar infraestructura adecuada a las necesidades educativas y brindar sostenibilidad a los edificios históricos.

Post Gradúate School of Business Studies and Cultural Center The project was conceived while working in the restoration of the historie building known as “Casa Suárez”. During the process of restoration, the owners received expressions of interest for the acquisition of this building. But these proposals never became reality because the lot area was too small for the requirements of the universities, and there are restrictions to build new facilities due its condition of historie building. The house “Casa Suárez” limits in the rear of its lot with a property whose owners are interested to sell, and that is the reason why this project links both lots. In the restored house we make an architectural intervention to transform it into the new Cultural Center and in the other lot we develop the new facilities for the Graduate School. In this way the project presents a strategy to address both issues: to give adequate infrastructure to the educational needs and to give sustainability to historie buildings.
