Occupational noise exposure of workers in an open pit mine in the northern region of the country pitis evaluated on three factors not previously considered as relevant; the expansion of its operations, the location of the job and the type of activity performed by operators; ignorance of their influence may underestimate the risk assessment of noise at work and therefore the effectiveness of hearing conservation program. A distributional analysis of the results of 1540 measurements of noise dosimetry full shift, for a total 36 Similar Exposure Groups (SEGs) between 2009 and 2013 and three time periods is performed; before, during and after the expansion of the mine, taking into consideration the location of the position in the areas of mine, concentrator and maintenance, besides taking into consideration the type of activity performed by operators (manual or automated), leading to show the differences between the results of the noise dosimetry. Besides the influence of the work environment, homeless or indoors, discussed in noise measurements. Palabras claves: hypoacusis, noise, PAIR, noise exposure, mining operators, expansion of mining operations, mining operator permanence location, roofing environments, permissible standards, conditional probabilities of crosstabs. Similar exposure group (GES).
